But God

Today I heard about a beautiful baby boy, born a year ago
But God, he was born without a heartbeat!
But God, why?

Today I saw a picture of an orphan, newly adopted
But God, she’s in a city that’s burning, and can’t come home!
But God, why?

Today my mama shared a hope-filled song on Facebook
But God, it’s because she wasn’t feeling hope-filled!
But God, why?

Why, God?
Because this is a world cursed by sin.
But God.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ – by grace you have been saved – and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. {Eph. 2:4-7}

Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus!
