L-R First comes Jo, who is learning to embrace her femininity by wearing a white dress with her hair loose. Next to her is Beth in a simple day dress and her hair in two braids to keep it out of the way of work and play. Amy, of course, wears her hair naturally curly. The dress is handed down from her cousin, but Amy has made it her own by adding a ribbon sash that matches the ribbons in her hair. Last, but certainly not least is Meg. She never wears her hair down in childish styles anymore, and today she has let Beth curl the hair around her face, which is growing back quite nicely after being burned by Jo. She wears a cotton day dress simply decorated with blue and white embroidery and tucks. The coat sleeves have fashionably exaggerated elbows, but are quite sensibly narrow at the cuff and can easily be rolled up to do dishes.
I designed these dresses especially for the challenge this week. Meg and Jo’s dresses are recreations from the movie and will be looked at in more detail tomorrow!
All four of these dresses (except Amy’s which sold) are available in my Zibbet shop!
